Bristol Rovers 0-3 Port Vale
Bristol Rovers slumped to a heavy home defeat by Port Vale.
Marc Richards gave the visitors the lead after he fired home from Tom Pope's incisive pass.
Doug Loft doubled the advantage after his long-range effort took a heavy deflection to wrong-foot Pirates keeper Scott Bevan.
Scott Rendell saw his shot blocked as the hosts tried to get back into it before Sean Rigg sealed the win with a thunderous 25-yard effort.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Bristol Rovers midfielder Matt Gill told BBC Radio Bristol:
"We were finally trying to build something - after the good result at home in the last game we were hoping to build on that.
"The lads are hurting in the dressing room and they needed to be after that performance.
"Quite a few home truths have been discussed in there and we now need to make sure that doesn't happen again."
Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:
"It was a terrific response from 11 lads who were committed to the cause.
"It's not easy to take a 4-0 defeat at home and you need characters to bounce back.
"It's just one win. We've bounced back from a massive disappointment and we go again on Saturday against Oxford."
