Peterborough United boss Ferguson hails Taylor composure

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has hailed striker Paul Taylor for his "fantastic" last-minute winning goal against Cardiff City on Tuesday.

Taylor came off the bench in the 81st minute to secure three points for Posh.

Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "There was no way they were catching him and he showed fantastic composure.

"If Messi does that in La Liga everyone is drooling. He's taken a touch and then used the outside of his right foot and it's a great finish."

Ferguson added: "Credit goes to the boy, you won't see a better finish, especially at that stage of the game."

The result secured Posh's first back-to-back league successes of the season and the Scot was elated with his side's display.

"We dominated for periods and pressed really well," he said.

"Any team who shows the character we showed tonight deserves to win and I'd have said that even if we'd lost.

"I thought we were absolutely excellent."

Peterborough welcome Leeds United to London Road in the early kick-off on Saturday (1200 BST) knowing a win would move them up to second in the Championship table.
