Doncaster 1-1 Coventry

Doncaster ended a three-match losing streak as James Hayter's second-half strike earned a draw with Coventry.

Coventry took the lead against the run of play when Sammy Clingan took advantage of some poor defending to drive in from 20 yards.

But Hayter levelled after the break from 12 yards following smart work from James Coppinger.

Both sides pushed for a winner but the draw means Coventry join Rovers in the bottom three of the Championship.

Dean Saunders' Doncaster side were without striker Billy Sharp but made a lively start, in which Hayter went close.

Rovers continued their early dominance and almost opened the scoring through Kyle Bennett, but the striker's header was straight at Joe Murphy in the Coventry goal.

Giles Barnes glanced a header wide from Brian Stock's corner for Doncaster before Clingan opened the scoring after 31 minutes from a clever pass inside by Cyrus Christie.

Carl Baker almost doubled the lead, with veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, fresh from signing a new deal this week, having to tip over the midfielder's 12-yard effort.

Bennett again went close at the start of the second half before Coppinger flicked on a Stock pass to find Hayter for the equaliser.
