Guernsey FC have gone 11 points clear at the top of the Combined Counties League Division One after a 3-1 win at Staines Lammas on Wednesday.

Ross Allen got Guernsey's first goal after 19 minutes and Kieron Mahon made it 2-0 just after the half hour mark.

Allen scored his second on 68 minutes to bring his tally to 26 goals in 15 matches this season before Staines pulled one back two minutes later.

Guernsey take on unbeaten second-placed side Bedfont Sports on Saturday.

"It was a very polished team performance where all through the side people lived up the what they were asked to do, assistant manager Colin Fallaize told BBC Guernsey.

And Fallaize says his side can now focus on their trip to Bedfont.

"It is a big one, they're unbeaten and we're going to their place so hopefully we can carry a bit of our form into Saturday's game," he added.
