Crewe defender Harry Davis has said he is happy to take on penalty duties after scoring from the spot in the .
"I've always known that I was second-choice behind Ashley Westwood and he was missing for the game," the 20-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.
"I was told by the manager before the game that I was on penalties.
"I've got confidence in myself because I practise them a couple of times a week for 15 minutes after training."
Davis netted for only the second time in his senior career, with his previous goal coming in a 3-1 home defeat against Southend on 8 October.
The victory at Whaddon Road ended Cheltenham's run of five consecutive wins in all competitions and lifted Crewe to within six points of the play-off places in League Two.
Davis is enjoying an extended run in the first team and has missed just one league game for the Alex this season.
"It's been nice for me playing a run of games," he added. "This is my first full season in the first team so to play as many games as I have so far is very pleasing."
