Watford have completed a deal to sign Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy on loan until 8 January.

The 31-year-old, who has yet to play a game this term, will be available to Hornets boss Sean Dyche for Saturday's visit of Peterborough United.

Nosworthy has played the majority of his football for Sheffield United over the last two seasons, initially joining the Blades on loan in February 2010.

His last Black Cats appearance was a 2-0 loss at Everton 21 months ago.

Since moving to the Stadium of Light from Gillingham in 2005 the centre-half, who can also play at right-back, has amassed 114 Sunderland games including 85 in the Premier League.
