Manager David Holdsworth was pleased as Lincoln City held on to draw 1-1 at Alfreton in the FA Cup after the first-half dismissal of goalkeeper Joe Anyon.
Sam Smith headed the Imps into a 10th-minute lead before Anyon saw red for pushing Chris Senior, with Nathan Jarman levelling from the penalty spot.
Holdsworth told BBC Lincolnshire: "We know the impact a sending off can make.
"The reaction from the players was fantastic. There were a lot of pleasing aspects so I can't grumble."
Holdsworth, in his first match as Lincoln manager, added: "I thought we played some lovely football. Our goal was wonderful and when we settled into the game we had some good phases of play.
"Joe's disappointed with his sending off and so am I, but we won't dwell on that because we've had some fantastic performances.
"If I have one criticism it's that we didn't hit the target enough but we've worked the ball well and our energy levels looked good.
"A little bit of luck wouldn't go amiss sometimes but I can't grumble with the result."
Lincoln and Alfreton will replay their FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at Sincil Bank at 1945 GMT on Tuesday, 1 November.
