Crewe Alexandra have handed trials to non-league striker Mark Jones and full-back Osa Obamwonyi.
Deeping Rangers forward Jones has scored 16 goals in the United Counties Premier team this season.
Defender Obamwonyi, from Isthmian Premier League side Tooting & Mitcham, is also training with the Alex.
"(Chief scout) Neil Baker is coming up with trialists from the lower leagues on a reasonably regular basis," manager Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke.
"A left-back would be a good addition for us and we could do with a 'Plan B' striker."
Gradi also said that he would consider adding a loan player to his squad, although there are no new signings imminent.
Former Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Alan Martin remains the only player to move to Gresty Road this season.
