Christian Ribeiro hopes Carlisle United move can impress McInnes
Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro hopes his loan spell at Carlisle United will alert recently appointed Robins boss Derek McInnes to his qualities.
The 21-year-old completed a month-long switch to Brunton Park on Wednesday, and could make his United debut away to Exeter City on Saturday.
"Derek said it was a loan to get some games to get into the City team," Ribeiro told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"I'll do the best I can and we'll see what the future holds."
Ribeiro added: "If I end up staying here longer or going back to Bristol that's out of my control.
"All I can do is give 100% and hopefully the Carlisle fans and the players will enjoy playing with me."
The Wales international, who made his full debut against Croatia in May 2010, joined parent club City as a 10-year-old, but has since made just 17 appearances.
"My career has stuttered with injuries," he said.
"I snapped my cruciate on my debut, I had a disc bulge in my back on my Wales debut, I've had a snapped hamstring.
"I've had lots of things that have stuttered my career when I felt maybe if I hadn't had those I'd be somewhere else right now.
"I'm really pleased to try to get myself back on the ladder, get some games and hopefully play more first-team games throughout my career."
