Peterborough United have handed a new two-and-a-half year contract to midfielder Lee Frecklington.
The 26-year-old joined Posh, initially on loan, from hometown club Lincoln City in February 2009 and has made 74 appearances, scoring nine goals.
He has scored four goals in 17 games this season, although he was sent off in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Southampton.
Frecklington was transfer listed in the summer following Posh's promotion but removed from it soon afterwards.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson told the club website: "It is great news because he has performed extremely well for us this season.
"He was on the transfer list in the summer and was very open about his feelings in pre-season. We gave him a clean sheet and he has done the business.
"He was out of contract in the summer so it is great news that he has signed."
Posh are 14th in the Championship table this season, with 19 points from 15 games.
