Steven Connors has returned to Cambridge United after the Football Association upheld the midfielder's appeal against his dismissal.
The U's terminated the 25-year-old's contract in the summer, five weeks after signing him.
The club cited "a pre-existing medical condition that he did not disclose at his medical" as the reason.
But , a decision the club tried to overturn through the FA.
And it would seem Cambridge have decided not to pursue the issue, saying in a statement: "We can confirm the FA upheld the Conference decision at an appeal hearing last week.
"Therefore, Steven Connors remains a Cambridge United player.
"Having taken legal advice, the club will make no further comment at this time. A further statement will be released in due course."
