Home ties for Wrexham and Newport in Welsh Cup

Welsh Cup

Blue Square Bet Premier side Wrexham will face Airbus UK at home in their first Welsh Cup tie for 16 years.

The Dragons will face the Broughton-based Welsh Premier side in the third round tie.

Fellow Conference side Newport County are at home to Barry Town, while Port Talbot face local rivals Afan Lido.

There will be a repeat of last season's final with Bangor City hosting holders Llanelli at Farrar Road. The ties are scheduled to be played on 3/4 December.

Wrexham and Newport return to the Welsh Cup after accepting the Football Association of Wales' invitation to take part in the competition.

The Dragons' last appearance in the Welsh Cup was their 2-1 final win over Cardiff City in 1995 at the old National Stadium in Cardiff.

Newport have not appeared in the competition since the 1991-92 season, when they lost to Cardiff 3-0 in the third round.
