Kidderminster Harriers sign midfielder Lee Hendrie
Kidderminster Harriers have signed former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie on non-contract terms.
The 34-year-old had been playing in the Southern League Division One Central with Daventry Town after leaving Indonesian side Bandung in the summer.
Hendrie, who won one cap for England in 1998, has also played for Stoke, Sheffield United, Leicester, Blackpool, Derby, Brighton and Bradford.
He was released by the Bantams last season after 14 games.
Hendrie, who was linked with Wrexham earlier this season after returning from Indonesia, made 251 league appearances for Villa, where he started as a trainee, scoring 27 goals.
He left the club in July 2007, after a loan spell at Stoke, before joining the Blades on a free transfer.
The midfielder made his only appearance for England in their 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in November 1998, coming on for Villa team-mate Paul Merson as a second-half substitute.
Hendrie will be the first capped England international to pull on a Harriers shirt since West Bromwich Albion old boy Jesse Pennington a century ago.
Striker Gerry Hitchens, who went on to play for Cardiff, Aston Villa and Inter Milan, and goalkeeper Ben Foster, who was on loan from Stoke, both went on to play for England after appearing for Kidderminster.
