Referee backs FA on poppies

Former Premier League referee Jeff Winter has told BBC Radio 5 live that the referee at Saturday's match between England and Spain should make a stand.

Winter said he would like to think he would have been "big enough and strong enough" to stick to his principles and wear a poppy if he had been in a similar position.

The England team want to wear shirts embroidered with a poppy for the friendly international against the current world champions.
