Ayr United moved above Raith Rovers in Scottish Football League Division One after a narrow win at Stark's Park.
The only goal of the game came in the 10th minute from Michael McGowan's free-kick delivery.
Raith's Brian Graham, who was being put under pressure by Eddie Malone, turned the ball into his own net to give the visitors the lead.
David McGurn made saves to deny Malone, McGowan, Gareth Wardlaw and Alan Trouten as Ayr searched ror a second.
The Kirkcaldy side lacked the cutting edge to create decent chances to level and they slip to ninth in the table, three points behind Ayr and level with bottom club Queen of the South, who have an inferior goal difference to Raith.
