Marc Pugh's first-half effort piled more misery on Wycombe as Bournemouth secured all three points at Adams Park.
Wes Fogden had already wasted two first-half chances before he sent over the low cross which was turned in at the far post by Pugh on 23 minutes.
Wycombe blew a chance to level, Stuart Beavon blazing over a penalty after Scott Malone brought down Joel Grant.
But the Cherries also went close, Wes Thomas crashing a late header against the post from a Simon Francis cross.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:
"We kept the ball well, that's something we have worked on all week as well as the defensive side of our game. It's a job well done.
"The performance and the unity of the lads showed from front to back... I think slowly we're becoming a very good team.
"(on getting a new assistant) I've interviewed a few and I'm no closer at the moment. I've still got to interview more and hopefully by next week we should have someone in place."
