Yan Klukowski scored twice as Forest Green hammered 10-man Braintree Town.
Klukowski fired Rovers ahead from long range before Charlie Griffin doubled their advantage with a bullet header.
Sean Marks nodded in Aswad Thomas's cross to pull one back immediately, only for the hosts to then have Matt Paine sent off for a professional foul.
And the visitors took advantage as Matt Taylor headed in Keiron Forbes' cross, Klukowski lashed in his second and Liam Henderson drilled home from 20 yards.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire told BBC Essex:
"It was a bad day at the office, we didn't play well.
"I'll take the brunt of this, I've probably relaxed them too much in these last two weeks we've been off.
"I should have kept the intensity up, I'll take that on the chin, this is down to me."
Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday told BBC Gloucestershire:
"It's a difficult place and surface here but we've come away worthy winners.
"There were angry voices and pushing and shoving in the dressing room at half time because, I believe, we are setting such high standards we weren't happy with the actual performance even though we were happy with the 3-1 scoreline.
"As the game wore on we started to get it down and relax a bit more while knocking it about and moving them about more and some of the moves were super."
