Brendan Rodgers set to open Swansea City deal talks

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed he is set to start talks on a new deal with chairman Huw Jenkins.
The 38-year-old is on a rolling one-year contract at the Premier League newcomers but Rodgers is ready to commit to the Welsh club.
Rodgers guided the Swans into the top-flight in his first full season at The Liberty Stadium and the club are currently 13th in the Premier League.
"I love working here, it's the perfect place for me to be," Rodgers said.
The highly-rated Northern Irishman has helped the Swans make a competitive start to their maiden Premier League campaign and Jenkins is keen to tie Rodgers to the club.
"We will be sitting down with Brendan to look at sorting out a longer-term deal over the next few months," Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post.
"Brendan's services are already secured as he is on a one-year rolling contract, but naturally we want to secure him in the long term.
"Brendan and I speak at least three times a week, maybe every day, and we have already talked through his thoughts and mine on extending his contract.
"Brendan likes working here. He is happy and he is settled, and we will look to get something sorted out."
Rodgers replaced Paulo Sousa as Swansea boss in July 2010 and his managerial stock has risen following Swansea's impressive performances in their encouraging Premier League start.
"It's something we have talked about in the background and has been left loose as my concentration was on other things," said Rodgers.
"We spoke about it a few months ago and last week we spoke about it again.
"I can't think of anywhere else in the world that would give me the satisfaction I get from working here.
"It has been a remarkable story and journey for us and there is still a lot of work to complete.
"It has been a good start to that cycle and my job is to sustain that.
"If the board want to keep me on the contract I am on it does not change my quest to be successful here, but if they want to reward that and protect the club at the same time then I am open to that."
Rodgers, who was part of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea coaching staff before managing Reading and Watford, guided Swansea into the Premier League for the first time.
He has since been linked to the vacant Northern Ireland post before he distanced himself from the vacancy.
