Accies say their fans are keen to be involved in the project

Hamilton Accies are the latest club to be added to a pilot scheme to play Scottish Football League matches on Friday nights.

Partick Thistle will travel to New Douglas Park on Friday 13 January for a 1945 GMT kick off.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday 14 January, with Hamilton keen for a switch.

"We are delighted Thistle have agreed to come here on a Friday night," Accies secretary Scott Struthers said.

"Following other clubs having already played on Fridays this season, we have had feedback from fans and others who are otherwise engaged on a Saturday - working, playing amateur or junior, involved in other sporting or boys club activities, or whatever - who would welcome the opportunity of a Friday fixture."

Thistle have already taken part in the pilot scheme, when they hosted Morton in September. The Firhill side were 5-0 winners in front of a crowd of 3,380.

The Scottish Premier League have also scheduled experimental Friday fixtures with Motherwell's match against Hibs moved back a day to 2 December, with a 1945 kick-off.
