Blyth Spartans have signed midfielder Robert Briggs from rivals Gateshead on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior bow for his parent club but is current reserve team captain.
"I'm pleased to get Robert in for the initial month, into what is an area of the pitch that we are struggling in a bit," said Blyth boss Steve Cuggy.
Blyth have been granted permission to field Briggs in this month's FA Trophy qualifying tie against Stalybridge.
Negotiations had taken place to bring the player to Croft Park prior to .
"We initially had contact with Gateshead prior to the Cup match, but it was felt best to get that game out of the way before we pushed the deal through," added Cuggy.
Briggs's opportunities at Gateshead have been restricted by the form of Michael Cummins, Phil Turnbull, Kris Gate and Chris Moore this season.
"Briggs is a promising midfield player who we have been looking to get out on loan as he needs experience at first team level," said Gateshead manager Ian Bogie.
"Playing in the Blue Square Bet North, which is a good standard, will further aid his development."
