Derby County defender Shaun Barker is relieved to be back playing again after seven months out with a knee injury.
Rams skipper Barker played 45 minutes as the reserves drew 1-1 draw against Sheffield United on Wednesday.
Midfielder Paul Green and defender Chris Riggott also returned after lengthy spells on the sidelines.
Barker told BBC Radio Derby: "Seven months without playing a competitive game takes its toll but it's good to be back and I didn't feel too unfit."
He added: "I still feel rusty and a bit off it but that's to be expected and I am enjoying be back.
"It's nice to be out there not feeling my knee. It's going to take a while before it's as strong as it used to be but it's getting there and that's the main thing."
