AFC Telford United's new loan signing Jay Smith insists he will not be returning to Tamworth at the end of his spell with the Bucks.
The 30-year-old played his first game for Telford in their 0-0 draw against Mansfield on Saturday.
"The move came out of the blue. I was playing all the time at Tamworth," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"In my eyes I've moved to a bigger club. I'm not going back to Tamworth. My time there has finished now."
He continued: "I'll see how things go during my loan at Telford and hopefully everything will work out and I can stay here permanently."
Smith, who has played in the Football League for Notts County and Southend United, joined the Lambs after a short spell with Eastwood.
He joined on the same day as fellow Lambs midfielder Ashley Cain and their loan spells expire on 5 January.
