Sheffield Wednesday have signed Newcastle defender James Tavernier on a two-month emergency loan.
The 20-year-old, who has just completed a spell at Carlisle, can play either right-back or in central defence.
One of his best performances at Brunton Park came against Wednesday in a 3-2 win last month.
A graduate of the Leeds academy, he is set to go straight into the Owls squad for the League One home game against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Tavernier will stay at Hillsborough until 9 January.
