An Andy Cook strike earned Barrow victory over struggling Alfreton Town.
Cook smashed the ball home from six yards early on after latching onto Richie Baker's pass.
The visitors nearly hit back through Paul Clayton, whose header was saved by Shaun Pearson, and Jake Moult, who struck the post with an angled shot.
And Clayton missed another glorious chance to draw Alfreton level, directing a close-range header firmly onto the crossbar.
VIEWS FROM THE GROUND
Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria:
"I looked at their players before the game and they were all huddled around a heater in the corridor.
"That showed to me that they didn't really fancy it at the start, so we told the lads that if they started well they could get one goal and win it.
"That proved to be the case, there were some really good performances."
