Cambridge 1-1 Bath City

Cambridge could only manage to draw against bottom-of-the-table Bath.

The hosts went ahead through Liam Hughes's 25-yard strike, but were nearly pegged back when Marley Watkins' shot was well saved by Danny Naisbitt.

Bath equalised when Lewis Hogg drilled the ball home from 20 yards, before another Hogg strike was saved by the busy Naisbitt.

Tom Shaw nearly won it for the hosts, but his shot was beaten away by Bath keeper Jason Matthews.

Cambridge manager Jez George told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:

"I think people are just getting carried away with where we are - we weren't as good as people thought we were when we were beating the Lutons and the Mansfields, and we're not as bad as everyone thinks we are tonight.

"We're a young team and sometimes this is going to happen. We had a really torrid second half, the frustration was felt by everyone in the stadium and that doesn't help."

Bath City manager Adie Britton told BBC Radio Bristol:

"We were better side throughout the game and again I'm really proud of the players.

"If we go on playing in that vein then things are about to turn.

"We've got two points from a couple of difficult games and now we need to go home and beat Telford."
