Lincoln City winger Gavin McCallum, 24, has joined League Two side Barnet on loan until 8 January.

McCallum has made 18 appearances for the Imps in the Blue Square Bet Premier this season, scoring three goals.

Lincoln boss David Holdsworth told BBC Lincolnshire: "If there are options to get players out I'll look at them.

"It's a win-win situation for us. If he scores goals it's good for him and when he comes back he'll be a lot fitter and with some match practice."

The Canada international joined Lincoln from Hereford in July 2010 and is contracted to the club to the end of the current campaign.

He was a member of the Imps' squad which was relegated from League Two last season after Barnet won on the final day.

McCallum is one of three players made available for loan by Holdsworth as he looks to reshape his squad.

"It's no secret Gavin is on a good contract," said Holdsworth. "We must look at all the options to help the club remain stable."
