Linfield striker Rory Patterson could be out of action until the New Year with his fractured wrist.

The former Coleraine forward had a follow-up x-ray on the injury on Thursday and was told that the wrist would be in plaster for four weeks.

The league leaders play Carrick Rangers at Seaview on Saturday.

Third-placed Cliftonville, who have won their last 10 games, have Aaron Smyth back from suspension for the match of the day against Glentoran.

Portadown, who lie second in the Premiership table, will be without the suspended Ross Redman for their trip to Lisburn Distillery, who have David Cushley serving a one-match ban.
