Lisburn Distillery 0-2 Portadown

Portadown kept up their championship challenge with a win over struggling Lisburn Distillery at New Grosvenor.

Tim Mouncey was forced to retire early on with a suspected dislocated knee but substitute Richard Clarke pounced to score from close range on 35 minutes.

Conor McCloskey and Shane McCabe had chances for Portadown while Distillery forward Gary Liggett twice went close.

Jamie Tomelty squeezed the ball home after Andy Hunter was caught in possession six minutes from time.

Early in the game a Mark Cooling effort clipped the post but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock after Brian Gartland headed the ball into the path of Clarke from a corner.

Before the break David Miskelly saved a Liggett shot and Billy Brennan tipped over from McCloskey.

In the second half McCabe was unfortunate to see his swerving shot cannon off the bar and Liggett had a shot deflected wide for a corner.

Ronnie McFall's side stay two points behind leaders Linfield.
