Gainsborough Trinity boss Housham laments 'horrible month'

Gainsborough Trinity

Manager Steve Housham admitted November had been 'a horrible, bad month' as Gainsborough Trinity lost 1-0 at home to Hinckley United in the FA Trophy.

Andre Gray's first-half goal for the Knitters condemned the Blues to a fourth successive defeat and extended their winless run to six games.

Housham told BBC Lincolnshire: "The spirit's still there but it's just been a horrible, bad month.

"We got done by one mistake. We had chances but you have to put them away."

Darryn Stamp struck the bar in the early stages for Trinity but poor defending allowed Gray to put the visitors ahead after 30 minutes.

After the break Stamp had a header ruled out for offside while Ryan Williams and Sam Mulready went close to equalising.

"It was a poor first half," said Housham. "They were a hard-working team who spoiled everything.

"One ball over the top beat us all. We were slow to react and it's a goal.

"We did OK in the second half and had a few chances but we should have scored."
