Jai Reason was sent off for violent conduct as Braintree crashed to a home defeat against relegation-threatened Hayes & Yeading.
Braintree held out until the break following home midfielder Reason's 32nd minute red card.
But Luke Williams coolly finished Tom Collins' left-wing cross to put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute.
Sam Argent then found Collins, who fired home a 25-yarder before Williams rounded off the scoring on 88 minutes.
VIEWS FROM THE GROUND
Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire told BBC Essex:
"The kid [Jai Reason] is stupid, he's let us down. I've said before these boys have to grow up and grow up quickly.
"That is just plain stupidity, what he done. I've got no qualms about that.
"It's a bad, bad day, we've got to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, we've got to pick ourselves up."
