Steven Connors agrees to Cambridge United exit

The ongoing dispute between Cambridge United and Steven Connors has come to an end after an agreement was reached to release the midfielder.

The U's attempted to terminate the 25-year-old's contract in July.

But the club had to perform a U-turn when the former Fleetwood player won appeals with the and Football Association.

A club statement read: "An agreement has been reached whereby Steven will leave the club forthwith."

Connors, who never made an appearance for Cambridge after , is now free to join another club.

The U's added: "This now fully concludes the matter and no further comment will be made by either party."
