Cillian Sheridan's future at St Johnstone is in doubt as the striker struggles with a hamstring injury.
The Irishman limped off during Saturday's 3-1 win over Hibs and might not be fit before his loan deal from CSKA Sofia expires in early January.
The former Celtic forward has scored four goals during his second temporary spell at McDiarmid Park.
And new St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas has said that he would like to extend Sheridan's stay in Perth.
However, in a BBC Scotland interview given in October, Sheridan said that his priority was to be a success at his Bulgarian parent club.
The 22-year-old joined CSKA Sofia in the summer of 2010 and played 26 games in his first season but found himself out of the team after a change of manager.
