Southend United have suspended midfielder Jemal Johnson for 14 days following his alleged role in a fight outside a nightclub.
The 26-year-old was arrested last week in relation to an incident in Ilford on 28 October, but released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The Shrimpers will conduct their own investigation into the event.
The club said the American-born winger will not be considered for selection or training until the review is complete.
The former MK Dons and Wolves wideman, who signed a one-year contract with Southend in July, has made just one league start this season.
