Glentoran boss Scott Young poised to wield axe at Oval

Glentoran boss Scott Young plans to make changes to his squad in the wake of Saturday's 3-3 draw with Distillery.

The draw came four days after losing to Cliftonville in the Co Antrim Shield final while the Glens are now 11 points behind league leaders Linfield.

"The players are given chances, some haven't done it and the time has come to make changes - we need to strengthen big time," said a frustrated Young.

"We need new players in to freshen up the squad and get better than we have."

Young has identified potential new recruits to the Oval but admitted bringing them in depended on the funds available to him in the January transfer window.
