Away FA Cup ties for three Welsh clubs

FA Cup

Cardiff City, Swansea City and Wrexham will take to the road in the third round of FA Cup.

Blue Square Bet Premier side Wrexham missed out on a glamour Premier League tie after being drawn to face Championship high-flyers Brighton.

But Cardiff will meet top-flight opposition when they travel to face West Bromwich Albion.

Championship side Barnsley will host Swansea, with the ties to be played over the weekend 7 and 8 January.

Swansea's one previous FA Cup tie against Barnsley ended in a 1-3 away win back in 1927, the year Cardiff famously went on to win the cup.

The Bluebirds have won once and lost once to West Brom in FA Cup ties, the most recent being a 0-1 away win in 1950.

And this will also be Wrexham's first FA Cup meeting with Brighton since a 3-1 home win in 1953. The Conference side reached this season's third round after beating League One side Brentford on Saturday.
