Sudan are through to the last four of the Cecafa Cup where the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finalists will meet Rwanda

Sudan will meet Rwanda in the semi-final of the Cecafa Cup on Thursday after both sides won their quarter-finals on Monday.

Playing in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam, Sudan beat Burundi 2-0 thanks to goals from Amir Adbelnaby and Mohammed Musa.

Sudan are the only side at the Cecafa Cup who will be contesting next month's Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Rwanda beat Zanzibar 2-1 thanks to a late wonder goal from Meddie Kagere.

With the score tied at 1-1 in the 87th minute, Olivier Karekezi picked up the ball from the right flank and passed it to Kagere, who fired a volley right into the roof of Zanzibar's goal from just outside the penalty area.

It was slightly harsh on Zanzibar's efforts, who fought hard to keep the Rwandans at bay throughout the game.

Rwanda had opened the scoring when Jean Baptist Mugiraneza headed home a corner from playmaker Haruna Niyonzima in the 39th minute.

Zanzibar rallied and managed to draw level through Abdulrahman Mohd just two minutes after the break.

On Tuesday, Zimbabwe face Uganda for the right to play the winner of the day's other game, between Malawi and holders Tanzania, in the last four.
