Chesterfield midfielder Mark Randall has been ruled out for up to six weeks after breaking a bone in his hand.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury to his left hand during a reserve game against Port Vale last week.

Spireites assistant manager Tommy Wright told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He just fell on it at Port Vale. We didn't think much of it at the time but there was a lot of swelling.

"He will be missing for a few weeks. He's having surgery today on that."

Meanwhile, the Spireites have extended the trial of former Ipswich Town and Monaco midfielder Jimmy Juan with a view to signing the 28-year-old Frenchman.
