Egypt have beaten Senegal in the 3rd place play-off at the African U23 championship, to claim the final African automatic spot for the Olympic Games in London next year. The BBC's Nick Cavell is in Morocco, where the tournament is taking place. Here is how the match unfolded. The game is followed at 1730 by the final between Morocco and Gabon. All times GMT.

1619 There will be four minutes of injury time - I think Egypt are going to the Olympic football for the first time since 1972!

1613 Senegal close again as captain Badji thumps the ball from outside the area it goes just over the bar. 5 minutes to go - time running out for them.

1558 GOAL! Egypt stretch their lead and close in on London. Saleh Gomaa cuts in from the left and shoots low and hard from just outside the area.

1543 Senegal are pushing for an equaliser as the Egypt defence scramble the ball behind for a corner. Seck heads wide moments later.

1519 Half-time. Egypt lead 1-0. Both sides have steadily improved - Senegal have pushed forward after going a goal down, but so far El Shenawi has dominated his area well and not come close to conceding.

1516 News from the Cecafa Cup - Uganda are the winners after that penalty shoot-out against Rwanda!

1509 Senegal captain Stephane Badji swings in a free kick and El Shenawi is forced to tip it behind, he then deals with a succession of crosses. Getting more exciting now we've had a goal!

1506 Egypt goal comes from a mix up in the area as 2nd choice Senegal keeper Camara fails to hold the ball and Abdel Baset pokes the ball home. Egypt in pole position to qualify for the Olympics.
