Truro City boss Lee Hodges says on-loan Torquay United defender Ed Palmer has adapted well to his new role in the centre of midfield.
Palmer, 20, is at the Blue Square Bet South club until January.
Having initially signed as a central defender, Palmer has been pushed further forward as Truro boss Lee Hodges deals with injuries in his side.
"He's done well and I think he's enjoying it in there a bit more," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.
But Hodges says Palmer, who has also had loan spells at Southern League sides Weymouth and Tiverton Town, still has a lot to learn about the position.
"Sometimes he does still play like a centre-half and if you are going to be in centre midfield you've got to move the ball quickly and you've got to know what's around you.
"A couple of times he gets caught out because he's played at the back, but all in all he's done ever so well in there for us.
"He's been top class for us and when he hasn't had the opportunities he's just got on with it but now he's getting the opportunity to play in there and he's doing really well."
