Huddersfield right-back Jack Hunt has received an injury boost after scans revealed he has suffered bruising rather than a broken ankle.
Hunt was injured in Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.
And manager Lee Clark told the club website: "The injury is just severe bruising so his recovery now depends on how quickly that goes down.
"He stands an outside chance of being available for Saturday, but he is likely to be sidelined for longer."
After being left out of the starting line-up on the opening day of the season, the 21-year-old has established himself in the Huddersfield first team.
He spent six months on loan at Chesterfield last season before making his full Terriers debut in their FA Cup defeat at Arsenal in January 2011.
