Friendly between Republic of Ireland and England 'highly unlikely'
FAI chief executive John Delaney has said that a proposed friendly between the Republic of Ireland and England in Dublin is "highly unlikely".
"The English perspective is that we could play them in the quarter-finals of the Euros, so they're not that keen to do it in May," added Delaney.
The Republic are keen to face high-profile teams before the tournament.
The last match between the sides in 1995, at Lansdowne Road, was abandoned after 27 minutes due to crowd trouble.
