Burton Albion left-back Paul Boertien has retired from professional football at the age of 32.
Boertien played for Carlisle, Derby, Crewe, Notts County, Chesterfield, Walsall and the Brewers, making 268 appearances in total.
His last appearance was in the 0-0 draw with Stockport on 12 March.
Boss Paul Peschisolido told the club website: "He has had a superb career and it is a shame that injury has limited his availability to us."
Boertien joined Burton in July 2009 and went on to make 54 appearances, scoring once.
"He has been an absolutely fantastic professional and a fantastic person. He was my first signing as a manager and has given great service to Burton," said Peschisolido.
