Sheffield United sign Marcus Williams from Reading

Williams joined Sheffield United on loan in September

Sheffield United have signed Reading defender Marcus Williams on a free transfer after a successful loan spell.

The 25-year-old made 14 appearances for the League One Blades before his 93-day stay expired last month.

The former Scunthorpe player has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Danny Wilson's side.

Wilson told the club website: "He did very well when he first came in and offers us a lot of strength on the left-hand side."
