Former Scunthorpe United manager Brian Laws has backed the Iron to stay up, despite them sitting just one point and one place above the drop zone.
Laws managed the club for nine seasons up to 2006 when he left to join Sheffield Wednesday and is currently without a job.
He told BBC Look North: "They've had a lot of problems in the past 12 months and they're in a transitional period.
"It's tough but I do believe they're good enough to stay in the division."
Laws added: "I do believe the football club is fine. There is a chairman [Steve Wharton] who has the club at heart and will make the right decisions."
