St Peter get Trinity Shield reprieve

Football

St Peter have been handed a Trinity Shield lifeline after Trinity were removed from the competition for fielding an ineligible player.

Competition rules state players can only play for the parish they currently live in or the parish their parents lived in when they were born.

Matt Rondel scored for Trinity in their win over St Peter but his connection to the parish is through his grandparents.

It means St Peter will now face Grouville in Wednesday's quarter-final.

Monday night's quarter-final between St Ouen and St Clement at Les Quennevais was postponed due to rain.

Holders St Lawrence are due to face traditional powerhouse St Brelade in the last eight on Tuesday night.
