Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law is bracing himself for a busy time in the transfer market as he looks to ensure the club's Blue Square Bet Premier survival.
The Reds are second bottom in the table but have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks and Law is eager to strengthen in the January window.
He said: "We have five or six targets we are looking at and will have to see how far we can get with each of them.
"We may have to put a couple more out on loan to help things along."
Alfreton are now unbeaten in four games at the Impact Arena and are now only four points from safety.
"All the signs are there that we are definitely improving," Law said.
"Last Saturday at Stockport we did everything but win the game. We hit the woodwork on several occasions and had the ball in the net three times with each one ruled out. We were so close to scoring and winning.
"And it has been like that on several other occasions over the past few weeks.
"The side is growing in confidence and it is a good place to be at the moment."
Law has been greatly encouraged by their recent form as they head into back-to-back fixtures against Tamworth over the festive period.
The Lambs visit on Boxing Day and on New Year's Day, the Reds face the return fixture at The Lamb.
