Manager Pat Fenlon has confirmed that Hibernian are in talks with Wolves regarding extending the loan period of striker Leigh Griffiths.
The 21-year-old former Livingston and Dundee player is due to return to Molineux on 1 January.
"Wolves are of the opinion that if they could sell him they probably would," revealed Fenlon.
"We are of the opinion that we would like to keep him on loan so its really between the two clubs at the moment."
Griffiths has scored three goals since he moved to Easter Road in late August.
The Scotland U21 international moved to Wolves from Dundee for an undisclosed fee in January 2011.
However, he made just one appearance as a substitute in the Carling Cup before his temporary move to Easter Road.
"I don't think we are in a position to buy him at the moment," said Fenlon, who signed Irish striker Eoin Doyle this week.
