Rodgers refused to reveal which players have been contacted by Team GB

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed Great Britain 2012 manager Stuart Pearce has sounded out some of his players for the London Games team.

Rodgers said: "I've been contacted with regards to the players."

English winger Scott Sinclair, Welsh midfielder Joe Allen and his defender countrymen Neil Taylor and Jazz Richards would fit the selection criteria.

However, Rodgers would not reveal the identities of the players asked.

Sinclair and Taylor are 22, Allen 21 and Richards 20.

The Football Association of Wales, like its counterparts in Scotland and Northern Ireland, has repeatedly expressed opposition to its players competing amid fears over the national team's independence.
