Worcester City manager Carl Heeley says it has been a good first half to the season but he is keen to push on.
Heeley told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We're in good nick and we are happy where we are but now we look forward to the Christmas period.
"If we could pick up points in those games we would be in a super position going into the new year," he added.
City host Gloucester on Boxing Day and at least two of the squad have a point to prove.
"Big Symo [striker Mike Symons] and Lee Smith will both be playing against their old club so that gives it a little bit of added spice," he said.
"But because it is over the festive period and it is a local derby there will be enough riding on the games.
"The boys can't wait to play as we would play every day of the week at the moment - it's like that when you are in good form," he added.
Worcester City were many bookmakers' pre-season tips for relegation from Blue Square Bet North but they are currently seventh in the table.
In addition to five victories as St George's Lane they have also won five times on the road.
Carl Heeley says they have given themselves a platform, but he insists everyone knows there is a lot of work still to be done.
"We keep setting little targets but the longer we can stay in there the more pressure there is and the bigger games become," he said.
"But that is why you play the game and the boys will want to be involved in those big games come the spring.
"To do that we have to remain consistent through this tough winter period."
There will be full match commentary on Worcester City against Gloucester City on 738 AM and online on BBC Hereford and Worcester from 1500 on Monday, 26 December.
