Micah Evans tapped in after Jose Veiga had parried Charlie Barnett's shot and Andy Procter's header from Lindfield's corner sealed the convincing win.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester:
"To come in 2-0 down after playing so well in the first half, it's always an uphill battle.
"It's been very difficult as we didn't know who was and wasn't fit. Some lads have come in for their first game and some lads who shouldn't have been on the bench got 45 minutes.
"I'm not going to beat myself up about it as the lads give what they could, but today was a bridge too far for the lads we had out."
